TIPS Founder, Sharon Trotter, is esteemed for her integrity. Her expertise, especially in the field of breastfeeding and baby skincare, is well established.

This is why parents and professionals often asked Sharon to recommend products, while manufacturers were keen for her to review their products.  In order to respond to these increasing demands, Sharon set up the TIPS Award Scheme in 2007.

The trials

Since 2007, this unique independent testing scheme has evolved to include:

• standard trials: where a category of products from different brands are tested at the same time
• retrospective trials: where a product is tested individually – this may
  be carried out for a product  which is brought to Sharon’s attention
  before a new standard trial for this particular category is set-up
  
• one-off trials: where products that are unique and don’t really fit in
  a particular category are tested individually.

The Testers

All Parent Testers take part on a strictly voluntary basis, making the TIPS Award Scheme the most impartial testing programme in the baby and toddler market sector.

The products

Only products that meet TIPS stringent criteria will be tested through the Award Scheme.

Sharon’s careful analysis of Testers’ feedback and evidence-based advice is included in the detailed review published for each winning product.
